GIVEAWAY: Let's see those books!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Sep 07, 2020 at 02:14:05 PM

Hey Jumpers,

I'm here in Los Angeles, enjoying the brisk weather...

Goddamn it...

Hopefully, things are a bit cooler where you are. I know you all just received your tracking info... but that was because I forgot to click the SEND TRACKING INFO button on Backerkit last week (I = bonehead) when I sent everything. It actually looks like a good portion of these books have already landed in mailboxes. Anyway, it would be really great to see them! And I thought I'd have a little fun with it...

Post a picture of yourself holding your freshly-received book on social media with the hashtag #THEJUMP and you'll be entered in a drawing to win something REALLY COOL and JUMP-related. Big ups, too, if you can tag me in it (@rylendgrant).

Backer #117/Another Satisfied Customer

SOME OTHER STUFF:

-If you're looking for your print, it's in the bag with your comic/behind your comic. If you ordered more than one comic, it's in the bag with the "regular" version of the cover.

Hope all is well.

Stay safe out there.

The books have shipped! Digital rewards have been delivered!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Sep 03, 2020 at 07:15:01 PM

Hey Jumpers,

I'm excited to let you know that, with a few minor exceptions, all psychical rewards have shipped! There are a handful of very complex orders that I'm still wrestling with, but those will be out by the end of the week. So, watch your mailbox.

That said, a word of warning... I've been hearing from other creators here on Kickstarter that they're experiencing a lot of USPS delays as a result of COVID and all this ugly political hatchetry, particularly with International shipments. So, US backers should give things a few more days than usual... but it might end up being a few more weeks for you folks abroad. If I could snap my fingers and get these books in your hands, I absolutely would, but these are obviously crazy times. I guess I'm just asking for your patience and understanding.

Remaining digital rewards have also been delivered. That means the PDF of THE JUMP #1, the script, the publisher pitch document, and the artists process materials have landed. You should have already received an email from Backerkit giving you access/telling you how to download everything.

If you have any problems with your order, whatsoever, I'm here for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks so very much again for helping me bring this book to life. I look forward to showing you Issue 2 of THE JUMP early next year. I'll be returning to Kickstarter in late September/early October though with some new, different, and exciting. WATCH THIS SPACE!

Stay safe out there! Talk soon!

The books have arrived! Last call for address changes!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Aug 29, 2020 at 09:38:31 AM

Hey Jumpers!

The books have arrived from Comic Impressions and they look spectacular (see below)! I've already started signing, bagging, and boarding... and my goal is to have everything out sometime next week. So...

This is your 48 hour/last call warning for address updates! If you need to change your shipping address for any reason, please do so via backerkit (thejump.backerkit.com). Backerkit should have sent you a "last call" email about ten minutes ago just to make things easy. That email will show you the address we have on file for you. And you can just click on their link to update things. Easy peasy.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to hit me up.

Stay safe out there!

The books are printed! And some Ringo Awards love!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Aug 27, 2020 at 11:10:33 AM

Hey Jumpers!

I wanted to let you all know that the books have been printed and are steamrolling their way to me via UPS as I type this (see below). I'll hit you back soon with a fulfillment update, but I will most likely get everything out to you guys sometime next week. As long as USPS cooperates (big 'if' right now, unfortunately), you'll be reading THE JUMP #1 in two shakes.

I wanted to let you know, also, that the entire JUMP creative team was nominated for a gang of very prestigious Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards - "Ringo Awards" - this morning. FOUR total! Our last book, BANJAX, was nominated for BEST SERIES along side Hall of Fame titles like BITTER ROOT, BLACK HAMMER: AGE OF DOOM, and SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN. Additionally, HdE was nominated for BEST LETTERER... Edson for BEST COLORIST... and Fabio was nominated for BEST COVER ARTIST.

Suffice it to say, you'll be getting a pretty damn attractive book in a couple of weeks.

I know that plenty of comic creators pledged this campaign. Well, if you've participated in the creation of comic, webcomic, comic strip, whatever, you have a say in who wins these things... and so, we humbly ask for your vote at RINGOAWARDS.COM!

Might I suggest that you also take a long look at my friend David Pepose's Spencer & Locke in the BEST SINGLE ISSUE category and his GOING TO THE CHAPEL in the PRESENTATION IN DESIGN category. Jason inman and Ashley Robinson also have a damn good book in that kids cateogry with Science! The Elements of Dark Energy.

Anyway, WATCH THIS SPACE! Fulfillment update coming VERY soon. As always, if you have questions or concerns, feel free to hit me up.

Talk soon! Stay safe out there!

CHECK THIS OUT: The O.Z. from SPENCER & LOCKE creator David Pepose
over 3 years ago – Tue, Aug 18, 2020 at 08:01:51 AM

Hey all,

I'm just stopping by to tell you about a really AMAZING project from my very good friend, Spencer & Locke creator David Pepose... THE O.Z. launched on Kickstarter this morning and it's taken off like a goddamn rocket.

Here's the pitch:

What if The Hurt Locker took place in The Wizard of Oz? Find out in The O.Z., a thrilling new comic series from Ringo Award-nominated writer David Pepose (Spencer & Locke, Going to the Chapel) and red-hot new artist Ruben Rojas that transforms a childhood classic into a war story for the ages. Debuting on Kickstarter with a 44-page first chapter, this campaign is dedicated to bringing this action-packed twist on L. Frank Baum’s iconic Oz novels to life. Fans of Mad Max, The Old Guard, and Fables will not want to miss out on The O.Z.

David is a great writer and one of the very best guys in comics. I honestly can't recommend this title enough. Check out the preview below and the click that pledge button huh?
